Her father, who is a retired chief of police, gives the data of the four prime suspects to Soo-hyeon and he asks two week off to his chief. Soo-hyeon becomes a monster and begins a cat-and-mouse game, capturing and releasing Kyung-chul wounded many times. this movie is just a show of graphic violence…the storyline is very simple…the guy who is apparently an agent, tracks down the butcher of her pregnant fiancée but does not take him to custody. Instead he starts a rat and mouse game with him which he believes will be a good revenge but its a ridicule, because when you leave a stray cat who has the habit of biting and killing fellow cats injured, he is not gonna stop there….all this meant there were plenty of butchering action throughout the whole movie….initially i thought it belongs to the extreme horror genre, but the display of the violence is sickening, something better spared…because it leaves horrible scenes in your mind once you are done watching.
Most definitely the south Korean cinematography becomes among my favorites.After Kim Ki Duk films i cannot say anything what could be discredit South Korean cinematography. I saw the devil!!! by Jee Woon Kim is complete masterpiece.A superb camera work along with directing, acting and soundtrack make him a true masterpiece. It is so much different then American thrillers in so many levels.So real ,so cruel.If you expect entertaining just forget about it.I am not saying that American films are bad but compare with this one revenge thrillers,they are like a joke.Generally,Asiatic people they are peaceful people, speaking in the ages ago,but today the whole world its chaos,so the violence could be very present in the Korean society in everyday of living. The film start running from the very first minute.So better be prepare for violence scene from the very beginning till the very end.But If we exclude the topic of violence you could enjoy in the originality of the film and of course there is always a point.
Ultimately, the returns of the film's premise can't justify a nearly two-and-a-half-hour squirm. The savagery is honest, raw and hardly entertainment.
I know that everyone loves speaking the word "thriller" a bit too much, but this doesn't mean one would remove action genre for this film. What's your problem in calling it an action film when it has heavy and prolonged action sequences? And that too stylized ones. Only due to such people the action genre is getting degraded.<br/><br/>There's no problem if you don't call a film like Sympathy for Mr Vengeance an action film because it doesn't really have any prolonged action sequences. Do you think both films have same type of violence? Stop this thing immediately. These foolish edits won't help imdb and the viewers in any way. As soonthe action genre is reinstated, remove this FAQ from here. <br/><br/>
